Hello, distinguished visitor

April 17, 2011

This is to let you know that a revised version of Post-Apocalypse Dead Letter Office has been published, and is available for purchase at Amazon (paperback and Kindle editions), Powells and Barnes and Noble and for special order at other, arguably worthier bookstores (for example, The Raven).  The published book is expanded, stylistically and grammatically improved and contains snippets of the handwritten letters project and an entirely new letter.  It’s really freaking great!

I’d love for you to purchase a copy but understand that that is not particularly realistic.  If you’d like to read it but don’t want to spend the dough, you can ask your local library to acquire it; a link to its website is probably listed somewhere here.  In certain ways, you requesting that your library purchase a copy is better for everyone concerned; if your library buys it, you didn’t have to pay for it directly, and other people can read it after you’re done with it.  Also, they may put a really nice plastic dust cover on it.

Thanks for visiting!

-Nate

P.S. – This website, containing the original handwritten letter project (which are below, and snippets of which appear in the published book) will remain up, like, forever.  So if your reading backlog is bumble-humperton years long and but you really want to read Post-Apocalypse Dead Letter Office in its original form, you’ll be OK to let it slide for a while.

Hey Nate, heard of your book via a post on the Post-Apocalyptic Forum. The concept sounds amazing, and I’m definitely going to pick it up once it hits the Kindle.

Picked up the book at Lawrence Public Library this evening after a personal recommendation from “the author” (much to the embarrassment of the wife portion of “his wife and two cats”). ;) I’ve only read the first letter, but I’m intrigued and it looks promising. I’ve already hyped it on Facebook so it better be good, lol.

  3. Hi there. Downloaded your book onto my Kindle app as part of a Christmas present from a friend (God knows what I’ll do when the world does end and there is no more electricity) and have finished reading it this afternoon. Any chance you might consider compiling a few more missives for a sequel? I was quite enjoying the read.

    Happy Boxing Day from Australia.

      Ang-

Hello there. Thanks for reading the book. I can say, unequivocally, that I do have an idea for a sequel of sorts to _Post-Apocalypse Dead Letter Office_. Whether that idea ever takes form, however, is an open question.

Not that you asked, but to convince you that I am up to something worthwhile, I have been working on a conceptually similar but thematically unrelated new book. I think you’ll like it once it’s published… but what the hell do I know, eh?

To tide you over or just so’s you have something else to read whenever you feel like it, please “enjoy” the following PA books:
_The Road_ by Cormac McCarthy, _Earth Abides_ by George Stewart, _I Am Legend_ by Richard Matheson, and _A Canticle for Leibowitz_ by Walter Miller.

      -Nate
